Install fonts via Cydia

Go to Cydia “Fonts” section, choose the fonts you like and install them.
All the BytaFont fonts ported by iPhoneRuler are distributed only by ModMyi repository and at iPhoneRuler.net.
In Cydia they have the following description: “BytaFont font by iPhoneRuler.net”.

Install fonts manually

In order to use a font on a jailbroken iPhone/iPod/iPad, it is necessary to follow a detailed porting procedure.
Be sure to copy iOS compatible font files, we do not take any responsibility for bad fonts!
To add a ported font to your BytaFont’s library, just perform these steps:

  • connect to your device (via SSH or USB)
  • go to /var/mobile/Library/MyFonts; if you do not have the folder MyFonts, just create it manually
  • create a folder for the font you want to add, e.g. <MyFont>.font and copy all the ttc/ttf files in this folder (Georgia.ttf, GeorgiaBold.ttf, GeorgiaBoldItalic.ttf, GeorgiaItalic.ttf, Helvetica.ttc, HelveticaNeue.ttc, HelveticaNeueExtras.ttc, LockClock.ttc, MarkerFeltThin.ttf, PhoneKeyCaps.ttf, PhoneKeyCapsTwo.ttf, PhonepadTwo.ttf)
  • you will see <MyFont> in the fonts list and you will be able to apply it as usual.

In case you want to add Arabic fonts, create your <MyFont>.font folder in /var/mobile/Library/MyFonts/Arabic. Copy in Arabic/<MyFont>.font the files needed to skin Arabic fonts (GeezaPro.ttf, GeezaProBold.ttf). You’ll see the font in the More tab, under the Arabic section.

In case you want to add CJK fonts, create your <MyFont>.font folder in /var/mobile/Library/MyFonts/CJK. Copy in CJK/<MyFont>.font the files needed to skin CJK fonts (STHeiti-Light.ttc, STHeiti-Medium.ttc). You’ll see the font in the More tab, under the CJK section.

If you do not have the folders Arabic or CJK, just create them manually.
